Graphic Arts Express is a family owned, regional trucking firm serving the continental U.S., including industrial areas of Chicago, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Louisville and Minneapolis. Graphic Arts Express is strategically placed in the heart of the Midwest to allow its customers to receive next day and 2-day service between points.

History

Peter Meyers was an entrepreneur of his time, and his beaten path began at the outskirts of Oregon, Illinois. By 1951, Oregon boasted a major crossroads. South and northbound travelers often hauled shipments to and from the booming industrial cities of Rockford and Peoria, Illinois and Route 2 intersected with Highway 64. Running east and west, Highway 64 connects two of the largest waterways in the Midwest, The Mississippi River and Lake Michigan. The intersection of Route 2 and Highway 64 sit approximately half way between the two bodies of water and this intersection is still today the heart of Oregon, and our home.

In his single Chevrolet Panel truck, Mr. Meyers started his own courier service. He delivered film, mail, and everything in between from communities a few miles up the road to straight east to Chicago, Illinois. By the 1970’s, tractor-trailers were added to haul dry freight from Northern Illinois to Chicago and to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Ralph Tilton bought the business in 1986. Soon after, the business expanded even more so, as routes were added for Iowa, Indiana, and many more Wisconsin locations. Mr. Tilton passed away in 1998, however, Graphic Arts Express continued to operate until it was purchased by Larry Moring in 2000. Since that time, Mr. Moring has executed the practices that have resulted in unprecedented growth for the company. To date, the expansion includes the addition of 30 semis and 70 trailers, including vans and refrigerated trailers. Graphic Arts Express continues to have high regards for the traditions set forth by Peter Meyers and Ralph Tilton. The quest for excellence, and the personal service to our customer will continue to be our priority, as it was theirs, as we continue to grow.
